Colonial León and Lunch at the Pacific
Full Day | Departs Daily at 7:30 am | León is home to Nicaragua’s largest universities, museums, and the largest cathedral in all of Central America. This tour explores the colonial city with visits to the Ortiz-Gurdian Museum, which houses a wide range of sculptures and paintings and the Rubén Dario Museum, to learn about Nicaragua’s most famous poet. Isla de Ometepe: A Day on Nicaragua’s most famous Island
Full Day Tour | Departs Daily at 5:30 a.m. | Picture an island of volcanoes rising out of the blue Nicaraguan lake. The twin volcanic peaks of Ometepe have been attracting travelers for years. Pacaya Lodge offers shuttle service to San Jorge, where guests can take the scenic one-hour ferry ride across Lake Nicaragua. Once on the island, the tour proceeds to the Ceibo Museum, where the area’s pre-columbian indian history is explained. After the museum, the tour stops by the scenic Charco Verde Reserve. This reserve is known for its rich birdlife, howler monkeys, butterflies, and lush vegetation. Spend time exploring the jungle, and follow it up with a swim and delicious lunch by “Ojo de Agua,” a natural spring, rumored to have healing properties.

Volcan Masaya and Artisan Tour
Full Day | Departs Daily at 8:30 a.m. | Watch the iconic smoke billow out of Volcán Masaya! Upon arrival, guests will receive a guided tour of the park’s museum and interpretation center, which features the region’s geological history and local mythology. Next, guests will head to the crater itself for a chance to peer into the volcano. Several short trails and viewpoints line the trails and provide excellent views of the countryside and volcanic landscape. Managua: Explore Nicaragua’s Historic Capital
Full Day | Departs Daily at 8:00 a.m. | Many travelers overlook Managua, arriving at the international airport and then heading straight to Granada or the beaches. However, Managua’s rich political history, architectural features, and recent modernization makes it a must-see for visitors. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the city is where the old meets the new. A horse-drawn carriage leads guests down Granada’s cobblestone streets. The ride offers stunning views of the city’s Spanish colonial architecture. Sightseeing and Wildlife at El Chocoyero Nature Reserve

Stand-Up Paddleboarding through Las Isletas

Mombacho Volcano Trek and Zipline Tour
Half Day | Departs Daily at 8:00 a.m | An icon on the Nicaraguan landscape, the 1,200-meter-high Mombacho Volcano offers stunning vistas of the islands on Lake Nicaragua, an opportunity to spot diverse flora and fauna, and a challenging hike through cloud forest. The 1.5-mile hike to the top of the dormant volcano rises through cloud forest and past three craters from the volcano’s ancient eruptions. Volcano Surfing: El Cerro Negro and the Pacific
Full Day | Departs at 7:30 a.m. | Surf down Cerro Negro, one of the youngest volcanoes in the world. This active volcano was born in 1850 and last erupted in 1999. Hike up the volcano’s lunar landscape and appreciate its charismatic crater and the amazing views overlooking the Nicaraguan countryside from the top. Guides will provide guests with volcano “surfboards” and guests can surf the volcano standing up or sitting down. This extreme experience is not for the faint of heart! After you get your heart pumping, head west to the Pacific Ocean for a fresh seafood lunch before heading back to the hotel.
